Sparkler candles are a cross between a birthday candle and a sparkler. You light the wick of the candle as usual, and the candle flame flickers with the occasional spark that you see in sparklers. The candles last for ages, so you can use the candles over and over again.

Frequently Asked Questions about Cake Fountains and Sparklers

How long do sparklers and fountains last?

Fountains last around 30 seconds, and sparklers last around 15 to 20 seconds.

Do cake fountains and sparklers produce much smoke?

Both fountains and sparklers produce a small amount of smoke. So you’re not likely to trigger a smoke alarm as long as you don’t use the sparklers directly underneath an alarm.

Are fountains and sparklers a fire hazard?

Yes they are. Although both are designed to only burn for a short time (just like matches), there’s a very small chance of starting a fire with them. However, just using common sense will minimise the risk of a fire. We’ve never had a problem using them ourselves.

Do sparkers or fountains harm the cake?

No, the heat generated from the sparklers and fountains is not significant enough to do anything to the cake. The sparklers and fountains don’t eject any residue either, so the cake is completely safe.
